Founding Member
Mr. Harrington leads the Firm’s Insurance Defense Group, where he represents insureds across many industries and professions in high exposure litigation. Over the course of his career, Mr. Harrington has defended numerous cases involving claims for serious personal injury, civil rights violations and mass tort/product liability claims, guiding matters from inception through discovery, trial and appeal. He approaches cases with both a strategic and tactical mindset which emphasizes not only the desired outcome but the most cost effective and efficient way to obtain it.
Mr. Harrington’s experience spans state and federal courts throughout New York and beyond. He has successfully handled jury trials, dispositive motion practice, appellate arguments, and settlement negotiations in some of New York’s most challenging venues. Clients and colleagues value his ability to distill complex legal and factual issues into practical strategies that protect client interests while managing risk and cost.
Before co-founding McGowan Harrington Parisi PLLC, Mr. Harrington was a partner at Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, LLP, where he built a reputation as a skilled and highly practical litigator. Earlier in his career, he served as law clerk to the Hon. Charles L. Brieant, U.S.D.J., former Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, where he gained invaluable insight into federal practice and judicial decision-making.
Mr. Harrington is also active in professional organizations and continuing legal education programs related to insurance law, litigation strategy and trial practice. His leadership of the Firm’s Insurance Defense Group reflects his commitment to mentoring younger attorneys and dedication to delivering the highest level of service to clients.
